A number of years ago, the social partners and the state agreed on transition support for people who wanted to change their career path.
Previously, the number of applications was too high and processing was not able to keep up. Now it is more likely that too few people are applying.
The forecast for 2026 is that we will pay out SEK 3.19 billion of the annual allocation of SEK 7.3 billion. The reason the entire allocation is not expected to be paid out is simply that there are not enough eligible applicants, says CSN's press secretary, Stefan Tärnhuvud, to Arbetsvärlden.
The number of workers receiving the support increased sharply last year to 21,000 people. This year, even more are expected to receive the go-ahead from CSN.
