The forestry company Billerud will reduce costs by 800 million kronor in annual savings. This means that the company will cut up to 650 positions.

The company management motivates in a press release the cutbacks with the weak market that has resulted in a deteriorated result.

”The measures within the framework of the program focus on reducing the fixed costs through strict cost prioritization, more efficient working methods and staff reductions within all functions and at all locations in Billerud's Region Europe and group functions. The plans involve a potential reduction of up to 650 positions”, writes Billerud in the press release.
