Packaging company Billerud warns of continued uncertain market conditions in Europe. In connection with the interim report for the second quarter, a gloomy picture is painted for the third quarter.

"The geopolitical and macroeconomic situation has caused customers to hold back on expenses. In addition, the new reality with import duties has begun to affect trade flows, which is causing an escalated oversupply on the market for fiber-based packaging materials in Europe", the company writes in the interim report.

The operating profit increased somewhat in comparison with the second quarter of 2024, from 171 million to 188 million kronor. On the other hand, sales decreased by 5 percent to just over 10.2 billion kronor.
