During the pandemic, the filming of the movie "Being mortal" was underway, when Bill Murray said that he tried to joke with a female colleague in the film team.
We were a large group crammed into a small room and I don't know what made me do it. I had done it before to someone else and thought it was a funny joke. I had a face mask and gave her a kiss. She was no stranger, he says to New York Times.
The incident led to the filming being stopped, the whole thing was investigated, and Murray and the woman reached a settlement without going to court. Murray says that he still thinks about what happened.
It was a big disappointment, because I thought I knew someone and I didn't. I thought it was a silly thing, to kiss someone while both were wearing face masks. It was nothing more than that, he says.
"Being mortal" was supposed to be Aziz Ansari's directorial debut on the big screen, after he himself was accused of inappropriate behavior during the #metoo movement. The film was then completely scrapped by the production company Disney.
