The deceased sex offender's accomplice and former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell was said to have been very keen on, among other things, Bill Clinton sending a birthday greeting to Epstein on his 50th birthday in 2003, the newspaper writes.
The greeting is in the same book with collected greetings from about fifty people, with several well-known names. Including President Donald Trump's "dirty" greeting with the contours of a naked woman, which WSJ has previously reported on. This has led to the president suing the newspaper and its owner Rupert Murdoch for nearly 100 billion kronor. He has denied that he wrote the letter and called it "fake".
According to the newspaper, Bill Clinton wrote in his greeting that it is reassuring to have "your childish curiosity, the drive to make a difference and the comfort of friends" about Epstein over the years.
A spokesperson for Bill Clinton has not wanted to comment on the greeting and refers to a previous statement that the former president cut off contact with Epstein a decade before he was arrested in 2019.
