She rode into the arena during the halftime break in her hometown when Houston met Baltimore and performed a few numbers, including with the help of Shaboozey and Post Malone.

Despite this, Houston lost with 2–31.

Netflix broadcast another match, Pittsburgh against Kansas City, which last year's Super Bowl winner Kansas City won with 29–10.

The two matches mean that Netflix is entering into streamed sports more seriously and American football. In May, the company signed a contract with the NFL to stream matches on Christmas Day. They can be seen by all 280 million subscribers, worldwide.

For Beyoncé, it was not the first time she performed in connection with NFL matches. She has sung at two Super Bowl finals previously, most recently in 2016.

The Christmas star Mariah Carey also got to participate and opened the broadcast, albeit in a pre-recorded performance, with "All I want for Christmas is you".
