Against Mjällby in Thursday's cup final, Hammarby felt they had been denied a penalty kick in the last second. When striker Paulos Abraham went down in the penalty area that time, the referee did not award a penalty.

Now Abraham fell again in the penalty area after barely a quarter of an hour had been played against Malmö. This time "Bajen" got the referee's attention.

“Three good goals”

The penalty was expertly taken by team captain Nahir Besara, who scored his third Allsvenskan goal of the season.

Abraham and Besara were not finished there. Half an hour into the match, Besara extended the lead to 2–0 after Abraham's pass.

After Malmö pulled one back, Besara became a three-goal scorer just before the break when he made it 3–1 with his head.

"Probably the header," Besara tells TV4 Play when asked which of the goals he liked the most.

He elaborates:

"Three good goals. Paulos first scores a penalty and then it's a lucky shot that goes in, but you just have to shoot sometimes," Besara says.

“Going fast in hockey”

Hammarby's captain and star has been substituted in recent matches, most recently in the cup final against Mjällby, despite the team chasing an equaliser. The 35-year-old's recent performances have also been questioned.

When asked if today's performance was some kind of response to criticism, Besara is humble.

"There's a saying that hockey moves fast, that's what it is. I don't really care. I just want what's best for the club. I put the club brand before myself," says Besara.

In the second half, Victor Lind made it 4–1, assisted by Besara. "Bajen" thus took their third straight Allsvenskan victory.

Hammarby is second in the table, two points behind Sirius, who have played one less game. MFF is eighth.

At the same time, Brommapojkarna and Kalmar met at Grimsta IP in Stockholm. BP won 1–0 after Sion Opping's goal in the first half.
