The thermometers showed 26.2 degrees in Norway's second largest city on the last day of September.
“The warmest day of the year in Bergen!” the Meteorological Institute said in a comment.
And warm weather is expected to continue in several parts of Norway in the coming days. The reason is warm, dry winds that are moving down towards the lowlands after passing over a mountain area.
The temperature will exceed 20 degrees. Thursday is October 1 and such high temperatures are unusual for that time of year, meteorologist Unni Nilssen tells the Norwegian news agency NTB.
