Belgian police have arrested one person in the coastal town of Bredene, suspected of corruption and money laundering linked to the military alliance Nato. This is announced by Belgian prosecutors in a press release.
A second person was also arrested but has since released.
The investigation is said to be linked to suspected irregularities in the procurement of military equipment to Nato, such as ammunition and drones. Confidential information is said to have been passed on by employees at Nato's support and procurement unit (NSPA) in Luxembourg, where "several (former) employees" are involved.
