“Two months after the incident, we note that our questions are still unanswered,” says Pascale Van Damme, president of the RBFA.

Infantino announced this weekend that he is running in the FIFA elections next year, despite massive criticism of his leadership and the now-scrapped plans to sell shares of the World Cup to private investors.

The Belgian Football Association says in a statement that it lacks confidence in Infantino, also because of the World Cup scandal involving American striker Folarin Balogun.

FIFA lifted Balogun's suspension after US President Donald Trump himself called Infantino and pressed him.

Balogun played in the round of 16, which Belgium won 4–1.
