The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, wants to host peace talks between Ukraine and Russia.

Minsk is ready to invite the leaders of the USA, Ukraine, and Russia for negotiations to reach a war settlement, says Belarus' dictator in an interview with American influencer Mario Nawfal.

You are welcome. We sit down here and come to an agreement quietly and calmly, without fuss, without shouting.

So tell Trump: I'm waiting for him here, together with (Russia's and Ukraine's presidents) Putin and Zelenskyj.

Lukashenko, however, does not want to act as a mediator, he emphasizes according to state-controlled Belarusian Belta.

In the interview, recorded on February 27 but published on Wednesday, Lukashenko praises Donald Trump.

Trump is doing a very good job, he claims.

His efforts to end the war should be recognized. Peace seems to be his only foreign policy. Brilliant!

Lukashenko has not spoken with Vladimir Putin about the matter, he says.

But I know him well. Putin did not believe it would become such a big war.
