The man and a hunting buddy were out walking in Simeå between Bollnäs and Ljusdal, to check if the salt rocks needed to be replaced.
My friend and I were walking and talking loudly to each other when the bear suddenly charged at me.
A violent fight ensued. In the end, he kicked the bear in the head and it left the scene, the man told the newspaper.
The bear bit the man in the stomach, leaving him with a wound six centimeters long and three centimeters deep. He also suffered a laceration to his leg, believed to have been caused by the bear's claws.
