After eight seasons, the BBC is ending the British version of “RuPaul's Drag Race,” in which drag queens compete against each other. A BBC spokesperson described the show as “groundbreaking” and said the decision was due to “significant financial pressure.”

The drag competition will now be streamed on a platform owned by the production company that makes "RuPaul's Drag Race UK".
The Swedish version of the program, "Drag Race Sweden", premiered on SVT and SVT Play in 2023.
