Despite the ticket price - 430 kronor for an adult - the exhibition is sold out until the end of the year, AFP writes. However, new tickets will be released at the end of October.
The 70-metre-long Bayeux Tapestry is richly embroidered with scenes depicting the events leading up to the Battle of Hastings in 1066. More than 600 people and more than 700 animals appear on the tapestry. It is usually displayed in the town of Bayeux in Normandy, and the unexpected loan is said to be the result of prolonged diplomatic talks.
The exhibition is now seen as a sign of renewed ties between the two countries following French bitterness over Brexit.
