It's teeming with celebrities among the owners of NWSL club Angel City – from this summer onwards, the football team will be coached by a Norwegian. Alexander Straus is leaving Swedish club Bayern München after the season and moving to Los Angeles.

The actor duo Natalie Portman and Eva Longoria are two of the owners of Angel City. The Oscar winner Portman was involved in founding the club in 2020 – two years later, the team made its debut in the American NWSL league.

Also among those who have invested money in Angel City are the alpine star Lindsey Vonn, tennis legend Serena Williams, and the former NHL star PK Subban, according to ESPN.

As of June 1, Norwegian Alexander Straus will take over as coach of the club. Before that, Straus may win a third consecutive Bundesliga title with Bayern München, which has the Swedish national team trio Linda Sembrant, Magdalena Eriksson, and Julia Zigiotti Olme on the team.

The German giant club has agreed to let Straus break his contract prematurely.

"I have always given everything for the club, but that also means challenges on a personal level," says Straus to the club's website.

With three matches left in the season, Bayern München has an eight-point lead over second-place Wolfsburg.
