For the second quarter, BASF is also reporting that preliminary calculations show an adjusted operating profit of 2.4 billion euros, which far exceeds analysts' average forecast of 2.1 billion.
Sales revenue in the second quarter also exceeded expectations at 17.2 billion euros, compared with the expected 16.4 billion euros.
