Roony Bardghji has the picture clear for himself. He wants Denmark in the World Cup playoff. I think we have the best chance against them, he says after Sweden's weak qualifying game that ended with a 1-1 draw at home against Slovenia.

Italy, Ukraine, Denmark or Turkey. When Roony Bardghji hears which teams can await Sweden in the World Cup playoffs in March – he has a quick answer.

I heard we could get Denmark, that would have been great. They're all tough opponents but Denmark would have been great, it's close too so you don't have to travel that far.

For the 20-year-old, Denmark would be fun for another reason. He played for FC Copenhagen from 2020 until he moved to Spanish giants Barcelona this year.

It would have been fun to come back. It's a nice arena. It would have been a fun match if we got to face them.

What do you think the other teams think of you?

"Things haven't been going so well for us, but we're a good team, we have good players. We just have to get it together - then we can be dangerous," says Bardghji.

In the World Cup qualifier against Slovenia, 1–1, Roony Bardghji got a chance from the start. After two substitutions for the national team, he was placed tenth, slightly behind Isac Lidberg.

It was fun to start, my first for the national team, on home soil and in front of the fans. It was extremely fun. It felt good, I haven't played from the start in a long time, or played 65 minutes in a long time – it felt good and it was fun to get a point.

Sweden fell behind after 64 minutes in the meaningless match at Strawberry Arena but got a point – the second of the qualifiers – after debutant Gustav Lundgren scored in the 87th minute.

It won't be until March that Sweden will play in the playoffs.
