Sweden national team manager Graham Potter has consistently said that the decision to exclude Bardghji was made on sporting grounds.
Potter said he was not aware of reports that the 20-year-old had behaved badly in connection with the playoff victory over Poland this spring, as reported by Aftonbladet.
And now Roony Bardghji says the same. In a written comment to Expressen, the Barcelona striker says he has a good relationship with Potter.
"The rumors in the article were completely baseless," Bardghji wrote, and added about this summer's World Cup:
“I really wish the guys all the best in the tournament.”
