The far-right politician Marine Le Pen was convicted on Monday for embezzlement of EU funds and barred from running in the 2027 presidential election. On Tuesday, her party leader Jordan Bardella criticized the verdict.

Everything will be done to prevent us from coming to power, he says to French media.

Bardella calls the judges' decision partisan and disproportionate.

We promise to fight to the end, he says, criticizing what he calls "judicial tyranny".

At the same time, he condemns the threats, assaults, and insults directed at the judges involved in the case.

Le Pen has announced that she will appeal the verdict.
