Raphinha was the hero of the match with two goals - the first and last goals of the match. He scored in the 73rd minute. Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong was sent off in stoppage time for bringing down Kylian Mbappé. However, the team was able to hold off Real Madrid's onslaught in the final minutes.
It was a dramatic first half of extra time. Barcelona led 1-0 (Raphinha) after 45 minutes of play. In the second minute of extra time, Real Madrid equalized through Vinícius Júnior, who scored his first goal after a 16-game goal drought. Two minutes later, Robert Lewandowski made it 2-1 - and in the sixth minute of extra time, Gonzalo García equalized to 2-2.
For the seventh year, the final was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
