With two goals in two minutes, superstar Robert Lewandowski initiated Barcelona's demolition of Real Madrid in El Clásico on Saturday evening.
However, it was Kylian Mbappé who started the goal-scoring in the match, played at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid. 30 minutes into the first half, the home crowd cheered after the Frenchman – or so they thought – scored his first El Clásico goal. But a VAR review spoiled the joy when the goal was ruled out for offside.
The match's first valid goal came in the 54th minute from Robert Lewandowski. Two minutes later, he nodded in his second goal and was also close to scoring a third, which was stopped by the post.
Then, 17-year-old super talent Lamine Yamal, who had Barcelona's colors on his braces for the occasion, extended his team's lead to 0–3.
The final and fourth humiliating nail in the coffin for Madrid was then driven in by Barcelona's Brazilian forward Raphinha, set up by Inigo Martinez.
Barcelona's four-goal win means that the team extends its lead in the series and now lies six points ahead of second-placed Real Madrid.
