After the 0-2 loss in the first quarterfinal match in Manchester, Chelsea was under pressure ahead of the return match in London.
But the home team only needed half a game to turn the deficit around. Sandy Baltimore scored 1-0 and Nathalie Björn headed in 2-0 on a corner, before Mayra Ramírez scored 3-0 just before halftime.
This was the teams' fourth meeting in less than two weeks. Chelsea won both the league cup final and the league match – and thus finally got to celebrate, despite the loss in the first match.
Chelsea, where Johanna Rytting Kaneryd was the second Swede to play 90 minutes, therefore still has a chance to win all four titles this season.
In the league, the club leads overwhelmingly, the league cup has already been won, and in the FA Cup, a semifinal against Liverpool awaits in just over two weeks.
Later (April 19-20 and 26-27), the semifinals in the CL will also be decided. Chelsea will then face Barcelona, which already had one foot in the semifinal after a 4-1 win in the first match against Wolfsburg.
In the return match at home, Barça did not let up. It ended 6-1 (and thus 10-2 overall) when the Catalan giant secured advancement in their pursuit of a third consecutive title in the tournament.
Both Salma Paralluelo and Cláudia Pina became two-goal scorers for Barcelona, where Fridolina Rolfö came on with 20 minutes left.
In Wolfsburg, Rebecka Blomqvist played the entire match.
Arsenal and Lyon will meet in the other semifinal.
