Last year, Barcelona was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Champions League. Now they are on their way to the semifinals after 4–0 against last year's finalist Dortmund in the first quarterfinal.

Rapinha scored 1–0 in the 25th minute and Robert Lewandowski extended to 2–0 with a header shortly after the break. The Pole also made it 3–0 with an assist from Fermin Lopez.

It was the Pole's eleventh goal in as many Champions League matches this season.

99 goals for Barcelona, 40 this season, I'm very happy about that, says Lewandowski, who came to Barcelona in 2022.

Lamine Yamal extended to 4–0 with 13 minutes left of regular time.

We played very well in the second half, but there's one match left, says Lewandowski.

I, Lamine, and Rapha, we always want to play together. There's great potential in this team,

Aston Villa shocked Paris Saint-Germain by scoring the first goal in the first quarterfinal in Paris. Morgan Rogers netted from close range in the 35th minute.

But last year's semifinalist responded just four minutes later, Desire Doue with a shot in the top-right corner. And shortly after the break came 2–1 through Chvitja Kvaratschelia. In stoppage time, Nuno Mendez also made it 3–1.

The return matches will be played next week.
