Fridolina Rolfö was forced to break off the Nations League meeting with Denmark last week at Strawberry arena already in the first half after having twisted her foot.
The day after, the national team announced that she had not suffered any fracture and the national team doctor Houman Ebrahimi assessed the situation as "hopeful" ahead of the European Championship.
On Monday, Barcelona writes on X that Rolfö has suffered an injury to two ligaments in her left ankle.
"The club's medical team has reported the results to the Swedish national team's medical team and they will be responsible for assessing her availability for play in the European Championship in Switzerland".
When Barcelona met Atlético Madrid in the Spanish cup final on Saturday, Rolfö was seen on site with crutches and her left foot in a protective cast.
Sweden's squad for the European Championship will be presented by the national team captain Peter Gerhardsson on Wednesday.
Sweden will meet Denmark in their first European Championship match on July 4 in Geneva.
