Barcelona was able to register Dani Olmo for play only until the turn of the year after he was recruited from Leipzig before the season. The same applied to Pau Víctor, who signed for Barcelona last summer after previously belonging to Girona.
In order to be able to register the duo for further play, Barcelona had to meet the league's "financial fair play" rules before the deadline expired, which they failed to do.
The fact that Barcelona has finally managed to get enough money to meet the rules does not seem to help the club, since La Liga and the Spanish Football Association believe that a player whose license has already been withdrawn this season cannot be re-registered.
The decision was appealed to Spain's national sports court, which now grants Barcelona the right to temporarily register Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor pending a final decision.
