"Barcelona has today formally notified the European Super League project and the clubs that had been part of it that they are withdrawing," the club said in a statement.
Real Madrid is now the only club still involved in the project.
Barcelona chairman Joan Laporta said last fall that the club wanted to reconnect with UEFA and move away from the European Super League.
It was in the spring of 2021 that some of Europe's biggest football clubs announced that they wanted to start a so-called super league - the European Super League - to compete with the Champions League. The league would be closed and run by the clubs themselves.
The plans were strongly condemned by UEFA and FIFA.
