Barbra Streisand is being honored for a career that includes 19 film roles and three directing credits. She already has two Oscar statuettes, the first for her role in "Funny Girl" and the second for the song "Evergreen" from the film "A Star Is Born."
“As a global star, Barbra Streisand is first and foremost an artist who initiates projects that reflect who she is, that are her own and that she shares with the whole world,” says festival director Thierry Frémaux.
Streisand will attend the festival to receive the award on May 23. It will be her first visit to the festival.
