The priest, who worked in western Sweden, has previously worked within the school's educational activities.

In 2021, he was banned by the church from working with children and young people after an adult accused the priest of emotionally, spiritually, and psychologically exploiting him through manipulation, which allegedly started when the person was a minor.

In November this year, the priest was suspended by the Swedish Catholic bishop and cardinal Anders Arborelius.

The guidelines that have been given have not been respected, and it has made the cup overflow, says Björn Håkonsson, child protection representative in the Catholic Church, to SVT.

He emphasizes that the accusations do not concern sexual abuse.

The priest, who denies having manipulated anyone, sees what happened as a dismissal and has sued the church at the Stockholm District Court to invalidate the suspension.

He has also appealed the suspension to a unit in Rome that is directly subordinate to the Pope.
