Between 20:49 and 23:50, users were unable to access Bank-id.

We confirm that we have been subjected to an overload attack that has affected several of our users and customers, says Charlotte Pataky, press officer at Bank-id, just before midnight.

A large number of signals were sent into the system, so the real users were unable to get through. We apologize and worked like crazy to resolve this, she says.

According to Pataky, there are no risks for those who use the service.

We want to make it clear that all our users' data remains protected and has been so throughout the entire overload attack.

According to Aftonbladet, which first reported on the attack, the first alarms about disruptions to Bank-id came in to the error reporting site Downdetector at 20:36. Half an hour later, over 1,100 reports had come in.

We will incident report to the relevant authorities and report to the crime prevention agency. The investigation will reveal the cause of this longer disruption, says Charlotte Pataky.
