Some Swedes abroad still have problems using Bank-id after an overload attack knocked out the service on Wednesday evening.

The system was up and running again just before midnight, but a few users outside of Sweden are still experiencing disruptions, according to Charlotte Pataky, press officer at Bank-id.

We are working to ensure that those abroad can also use Bank-id flawlessly again, she says.

For three hours before midnight yesterday, users were unable to access Bank-id at all.

It was an incredibly powerful overload attack that takes time to restore. But all data is protected, and was during the attack, says Pataky.

Attacks on Swedish infrastructure are common, including against Bank-id, explains Pataky.

We cannot comment on who is behind it. But we incident-report to our relevant authorities, file a police report, and of course conduct an investigation into why this disruption lasted for so long.
