Tottenham's midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur receives a seven-match ban and a fine for a racist remark towards his teammate Son Heung-Min.
The English Football Association FA announces this.
The fine is set to 100,000 pounds, equivalent to almost 1.45 million kronor.
FA launched the investigation already in mid-September. The controversial words came when a TV presenter in Uruguayan TV asked Bentancur if he could get a Tottenham jersey.
"Sonnys"? It could also have been his cousin's, because everyone looks exactly alike, said Bentancur and pointed at his South Korean teammate.
Bentancur later apologized to Son Heung-Min on Instagram.
FA views the rule violation as serious since his remarks were linked to nationality, race, and ethnic origin.
