When Joakim Persson scored 3-2 for Sirius midway through the first half of extra time, many probably thought that Sirius would play in the cup final for the first time in the club's history. But Bajen's team captain Nahir Besara wanted otherwise, and penalties were needed to decide the match.
Once there, Hammarby had the better control of their nerves and secured a place in the final.
In the first half of the match, Sirius controlled the game and took the lead through Neo Jönsson in the 22nd minute. Then Hammarby took over. Markus Karlsson equalized in the 56th minute, and shortly after that, Montader Madjed made it 2–1. But the drama was not over. Sirius' Robbie Ure stepped up and forced the match into extra time.
In the final, Hammarby will face Mjällby or Gais.
