The gala returned to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and featured performances by several major Latino artists.
Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny had twelve nominations and won five awards. In addition to best album, he also won for best urban/urban fusion performance, best reggaeton performance, best urban music album and best urban song.
Bad Bunny is also set to headline the Super Bowl halftime show next February, a concert that will be watched by 100 million people in the US alone, and millions more worldwide. He is otherwise refraining from performing on the US mainland due to concerns for fans during Trump's immigration crackdown.
