It is not the first time that Bad Bunny is on stage during the Super Bowl. In 2020, he made a guest appearance when Shakira and Jennifer Lopez were in charge of the show.
Since then, it has only gone upwards for Bad Bunny, or Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio as he is actually called. The reggaeton star has recently completed his 30-concert tour at home in Puerto Rico and has been one of the world's most played artists for some time.
He has also made himself known for his commitment against Donald Trump's migration policy. When he recently announced his world tour, he completely skipped the USA. This is due to fear that his fans will be exposed to raids from the US immigration agency ICE and be mass-deported.
On Instagram, he called ICE and its representatives "those bastards", who cannot "let people be in peace and work".
The tour includes two concerts in Stockholm next summer.
Last year, the halftime show's main number was Kendrick Lamar, who together with SZA was in charge of the most watched halftime show so far, with 133.5 million viewers.
