The Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny is skipping the USA during his upcoming world tour out of fear that his audience will be exposed to raids from the American immigration authority. In an interview with i-D magazine, the three-time Grammy winner says he is worried that his fans with Latin American backgrounds could be mass-deported, writes The Guardian.
Bad Bunny has also posted criticism on Instagram against the authority – Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) – and its representatives, “sons of bitches”, who cannot ”let people be in peace and work”.
This week, the Hösta court gave the authority ICE permission to stop people in Los Angeles just because they speak Spanish or appear to be Latin American, a development that immigration lawyers describe as ”an effective way to legalize racial profiling”.
