Larsson, 32, and Seattle took command from the start and led 4–0 after two periods. Then the management of Islanders decided that it was enough for goalkeeper Ilya Sorokin, who had let in four pucks on just 13 shots.
In came Swedish goalkeeper Marcus Högberg, from Örebro but with several seasons in Linköping before he signed with Ottawa in 2018. In May this year, he got a contract with Islanders and the match against Seattle was his NHL debut in his new team.
Högberg kept a tight defense as long as he was in the goal in the third period – the opponents' fifth goal came when Högberg had left the ice for an extra outfield player.
