Cake, presents and maybe a party, that's how many people celebrate their 70th birthday.
Not Don Pettit, who literally was brought back down to earth on the day he turned 70.
The American was on Sunday one of three astronauts who in a Soyuz capsule landed in Kazakhstan after spending 220 days in space.
Pettit and the two cosmonauts Alexey Ovtjinin and Ivan Vagner have during their seven months on board the space station ISS, among other things, researched how fires behave in microgravity, according to Nasa.
At 70 years old, Don Pettit is Nasa's oldest active astronaut and has spent more than 18 months in space on his four spaceflights so far.
