Missed ten shots – Ponsiluoma last of all

Pleased and happy after the pursuit. A day later, biathlete Martin Ponsiluoma was thoroughly disappointed. It was a really crappy competition, says the Swede after ten misses and last place in French Le Grand Bornand.

After a failed World Cup sprint, Martin Ponsiluoma got a nice revenge in the pursuit, as he climbed from 58th place to 19th.

However, there was no further wave of success.

In the 15 km mass start in French Le Grand Bornand, he was the worst of all, had ten misses and was a whole 4.21,9 minutes behind winner Tarjei Bø from Norway.

And it was mainly the final visit to the shooting range that ruined it for the Swede: where he had four misses.

It started badly and I was behind all the time, it became tough. It was really disappointing, says Ponsiluoma to SVT.

After a four, there was nothing to do. It was bad all the way through. Disappointing, I was loaded today. It was a really crappy competition.

Bø, Norway won ahead of German Danilo Riethmüller and Johannes Thingnes Bø.

The best Swedish athlete became Sebastian Samuelsson, who finished in tenth place with three misses.

For the World Cup athletes, there is now a little competition break over Christmas and New Year's. Not until January 9-12 will it be time again, when competitions await in German Oberhof.

It will be nice to come home, land and get a fresh start, says Martin Ponsiluoma.
