The recall applies to eggs in certain batches from Garant. This is done, according to Axfood, as a precautionary measure after the producer detected salmonella where the eggs were laid, the company writes in a press release.

The eggs in question, which according to the company have been sold in limited quantities, may pose a health risk and are now stopped from being sold.

"That salmonella has been found in the stall environment is very unfortunate and something we take seriously. We will, together with the supplier, investigate how this could have happened, and how this type of incident can be avoided in the future", says Axfood's quality manager Susanna Wadegård.

Those who have bought the eggs are urged to return them to the store where they were purchased to receive compensation.

The following products are being recalled:

Garant Eggs, Free-range indoors, Medium, 6-pack, best before date 2025-09-05, egg code: 2SE684-35, packaging code: SE007 (on the lid).

Garant Eggs, Free-range indoors, Medium, 15-pack, best before date 2025-08-31, egg code: 2SE684-35, packaging code: SE007 (on the lid).

Garant Eggs, Free-range indoors, Large, 10-pack, best before date 2025-08-31, egg code: 2SE684-35, packaging code: SE007 (on the lid).
