"The fact that salmonella has been found in the stable environment is very unfortunate and something we take seriously," said Axfood's quality manager Susanna Wadegård in a press release.
The recall applies to Garant eggs from indoor free-range hens, two types of 6-packs and one type of 24-pack.
On Saturday, Coop also announced that it was recalling eggs due to a salmonella risk.
Corrected: In a previous version, the wrong packaging size was specified.
