"It was very bad. Yes, embarrassing," says Johansson in the mixed zone.
The Swedes easily advanced to Monday night's European Championship final in shot put in Birmingham after a strong qualifying round, but once there the fun was over.
Didn't believe in a medal
"It's you in the media who have hyped me up. I never said I would win a medal. Of course I'm disappointed, but I never said or thought I would win a medal," says Axelina Johansson.
For Swedish record holder Johansson - World Indoor Championships bronze medallist in March - it was a short final.
Johansson reached 18.18 metres with her best throw and was not among the top eight who were allowed to continue the competition after three throws.
I just feel like I don't have the same pressure in my body as I did earlier in the season, says Johansson.
Fanny Roos reached 19.05 in the second round and was allowed to take all six throws, but did not improve on that. She was 45 centimetres behind Germany's Yemisi Mabry in the bronze-medal spot.
"Of course I'm disappointed to finish fourth. It feels very sour," says Roos.
When I try to get a little more pressure, I miss a little, so I kind of didn't quite get it together, she continues.
“Feeling good”
Unlike Johansson, Roos felt in good shape.
I felt good in the qualifiers and I feel good now too. But it's not just the pressure that has to be there, you have to get everything together: technique, physicality and mental. And yes, I kind of didn't quite get all the pieces together today, says the Swede.
Jessica Schilder of the Netherlands won the European Championship gold medal with 20.73 ahead of compatriot Jorinde van Klinken, who threw 19.64 metres.
