The Swedish shot putter won with a throw of 19.92 meters. That's just five centimeters from Johansson's Swedish record that she set in a competition in mid-May. The result was a new record for the college championships, which were held in Eugene, Oregon.
"I enjoyed every second of it! It was my last college competition, so it felt extra fun to finish on top with gold and a championship record," said Johansson in a press release.
Axelina Johansson showed great form during the indoor season when she took bronze at the World Indoor Championships with a new Swedish indoor record of 19.75 meters.
