The avalanche was triggered on Saturday near the ski slopes, according to the rescue services.
It was initially unclear whether anyone had been swept away by the avalanche or whether there were ski tracks in the area. Mountain rescue, a helicopter and emergency services were called into the search.
At 1:30 p.m., it was reported that no one appeared to have been injured.
"There is currently no indication that anyone is buried in the avalanche," Maria Fredriksson, press spokesperson for the police, told Tidningen Härjedalen.
