More than 40 people are trapped under the snow after being swept away by an avalanche in the state of Uttarakhand in northern India, near the border with Tibet, local media report.
All 57 people affected, several of whom have already been dug out by rescue services, are said to be construction workers.
At least three of them have been taken to a military hospital. A rescue operation is underway to find the people still trapped under the snow.
