At least four people have been confirmed dead and five people are still missing after an avalanche in northern India.
55 people were swept away by the avalanche on Friday. The individuals, who are believed to be construction workers, were buried under the snow after the avalanche hit a construction site in the state of Uttarakhand, near the border with Tibet.
47 of the people have been rescued from the snow and military doctors have performed life-saving operations on the seriously injured.
Avalanches are common in the upper parts of the Himalayas, especially during the winter.
