The avalanche alarm came in at 12:17 from Kebnekaise mountain station, but it is still unclear exactly where it occurred.
We have picked up the people by a police helicopter and taken them to Nikkaluokta for further transport to medical care, says police spokesperson Elisabeth Glaas.
The person caught in the avalanche was reportedly awake and able to speak and is not thought to have suffered any serious injuries. There is no information that any additional people were caught in the avalanche.
