Jared Bednar's current contract, which runs until next summer, is being extended by four years through the 2030-31 season.
The announcement came on Wednesday, just hours before Colorado, where Swede Gabriel Landeskog is the team captain, begins this year's NHL season when it faces Los Angeles at home.
Bednar has been with the club since 2016, led Colorado to the Stanley Cup title in 2022 and is the coach with the most wins in the club's history.
