After depicting the city of Gothenburg "with accuracy, warmth and humor", author Lydia Sandgren has been named "Göteborg Citizen of the Year".
The jury emphasizes that in both of her novels, "Collected Works" and "The Survival of the Species", she has given the city a greater place in literature and made Gothenburgers see their city anew.
"Many people have said that it's like Gothenburg is one of the main characters in my books, and I think that's true," says Lydia Sandgren herself in a press release.
"Göteborg Citizen of the Year" is chosen by representatives from Göteborgs-Posten and Göteborg & Co.
