It's the first time since the World Championship 1994 that Austria makes it past the group stage, and now the home nation Sweden can be the next opponent.

But everything depends on how the remaining matches go on Tuesday evening.

If Sweden takes points against Canada, it will be a Swedish victory in the Stockholm-deciding group. If Denmark, the host of the other group, defeats Germany, the Danes will simultaneously finish fourth.

Since the two host nations have home advantage in a potential quarterfinal, they cannot be pitted against each other, and instead will face teams from their own groups in the quarterfinal.

This would mean that it's Sweden–Austria met in the group stage, Tre Kronor won 4–2 after turning a deficit into a victory in the final period.
