Mark Parton - leader of the right-wing Liberal Party in the Canberra region - was accused this week of sending the message to a prostitute, according to local media.
"And fuck, my job is boring. Should we change?" the politician wrote during a committee meeting in July, according to the Canberra Times.
Parton initially denied the entire story, calling it a smear campaign. On Thursday, he admitted to reporters that he had sent the text message. He would not say to whom, but denied that it was to a sex worker.
